"A Soldier Was Killed Today..."

BACK

With the administration policy barring journalists, and others, from reporting from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the president has determined that the country will tolerate the needless death of it's citizens with greater apathy than that which occurred in the Viet Nam conflict. Even as a young boy, I still recall the images, indelibly seared into my memory, of the flag draped boxes carrying our soldiers back home to their families, and ultimately to their final resting place. The house grew a little quieter when this portion of the evening news aired. Although not fully understanding, even as a child, I was conscious of the price that families across this nation were paying for a war that, in the end, was totally meaningless.

The utter callousness and disregard for human life by this neo-con administration is beyond belief. Recently, when asked if the president was aware that a milestone was reached with the death of the 2,500th soldier in combat, Tony Snow(job), sounding irritated, responded that "yes, the president was aware" and that "it was just a number!"

Just A Number

To the president and his administration, with our American forces enduring thousands of casualties on the battlefield, it is just a number. To the families, who's lives will forever be changed because a loved one will not be coming home, it is so much more. Never to talk to their loved one again, never knowing what the future might have held for them if not for the insane policies of a fascist regime gone mad.

This president has repeatedly shown how heartless he is when it comes to dealing with the "pawns" on his Grand Chessboard. Never missing an opportunity to use injured soldiers as propaganda "props", this jackal refused to meet with the mother of a soldier who had sacrificed his life on the battlefield to further the cause of the neo-con agenda of global domination. Bush is a miserable leader resorting to threats, intimidation, lies...the list goes on and on and on.

The Bush administration, ever eager to tout how they care about our military service members, sees no problem in sending our troops to fight THEIR war, pitifully equipped, to accomplish the mission. Reports of the vultures informing our soldiers that they must personally pay for the inadequate body armor being worn when they were injured is appalling. The vehicles and armored personnel carriers offer little protection when an improvised explosive device ( IED ) is encountered. We have now learned that this arrogant regime, insisting that they are infallible, refused to listen to those who informed them that more troops were needed in Iraq. Certain that, as brilliant military strategists, they had planned for every probable scenario that might occur.

LIES!!! Our military forces should not be in Iraq or Afghanistan. The president, and his administration, intentionally lied to our nation to coerce our allegiance to their global agenda. It was reported that our troops were training for the overthrow of the Taliban government in Afghanistan as early as April of 2001, and the Indian magazine, India Reacts, reported in the June 26, 2001 issue that India had signed on in support of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan!  The administration was determined to throw out the Taliban government in Afghanistan before September 11, 2001!

Recently, the leaking faucet known as "dubya" dripped some important information when angrily reacting to unscripted questions asked by a Whitehouse press reporter who veered from the normal "beach ball" questions these lackeys usually ask the president. The reporter asked "What did Saddam Hussein have to do with 9-11?" to which the president snapped, "NOTHING"!!! Saddam's Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11, intelligence sources, here and abroad, made every effort to inform this administration that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, these same sources also made the administration aware of the fact that, far from having ties to Osama bin Laden, Saddam and Al Qaeda were enemies!

Why would this administration ignore intelligence reports? They ran contrary to what Bush and Company wanted to hear. The neo-con agenda includes global conquest, not in the sense of annihilating everyone, but through the control of the world's energy sources.

Our family members, our friends, and our neighbors, serving in our military are more than "Just a number". They deserve more than being put in harm's way for these empire building neo-cons and we owe it to them to do everything in our power to bring them home safely. November 7, vote EVERY LAST ONE of them out of office for dereliction of duty. If this administration gets another "rubber-stamp" Congress, you may not get another chance to make your voice heard.

The Pentagon reported this week that the United States will maintain current troop levels in Iraq at least until 2010! The Iraqi insurgency is becoming stronger with each passing day, and more coordinated in the attacks upon our service personnel and the Iraqi infrastructure. With this in mind, the news reports for the foreseeable future will continue to be "A soldier was killed today"...and tomorrow, and the next day...and the next...and so on!
